On Instagram, I usually only follow people I know because all other accounts (celebrities, memes, etc.) usually post way too much, which can eventually get annoying. However, there are a few accounts I follow that I don’t mind how much content they post, because it never disappoints. Today I am going to share those accounts 🙂
#1 – Humble the Poet
I came across Humble from watching vlogs of Superwoman on YouTube. I find him to be very wise and… humble (lol). He keeps it real and posts quotes or statements that give you a reality check. Some of his posts would also have long captions that are interesting to read and also causes you to self reflect.
#2- The Awkward Yeti
This is a comic account. The comic characters are human organs. It depicts real life situations from the perspectives of the organs. My favourite comics are the ones between the brain and the heart. Should you follow your heart and do what’s fun regardless of the consequences or should you follow your brain and do what’s right?
Vithya is a makeup artist in the UK. Her makeup work on brides and actresses are nice, but that’s not why I follow her. I find her style similar to mine and so I like to look at her outfit posts for inspiration on the rare occasions that I do dress up. I usually wear dark or neutral colours (black being my favourite 🙂 ) and I find she does as well. Also for someone who’s over 30 years old, she looks amazing. I wish I can look as good as her when I’m 30!
So I’m a fan of comics. This is yet another comic that I love looking at because it’s relatable. The drawings are done by Sarah Andersen. She also has a book out called Adulthood is a Myth. These books would probably make awesome coffee table books. I can just picture my future house with comic books nicely placed around the living room for my guests to look through. Now if only the prices of Toronto houses would go down so I can achieve this -_- …
#5 – Jean Jullien
Jean Julien is a French graphic artist from London. He has a certain style to his drawings. His artwork is usually based on current events, trends, or just different moods, which makes them more interesting. I am pretty confident that I can tell from looking at a piece of artwork whether it belongs to Jean Jullien because his style is pretty unique. (Then again, I’m no art major and maybe there are others with similar drawing styles that I just never came across)
#6- Cassandra Calin
Just one last comic account I’d like to share! I actually came across this account just recently and found the comics to be too good because again, I can relate to the situations that are illustrated. I also love her drawing style. The characters look so good. I wish I could draw like that.
So those are some of my favourites on Instagram. Check them out if you haven’t done so already 🙂
