I came across a few posts where people just mention random thoughts and I thought I’d give it a try. It was fun writing this. Here are my thoughts from A-Z. I wonder if there are others out there that have shared the same thoughts. Okay, no more using the word “thought” for the rest of this year.
Arthur: On the rare days I wake up early, eating breakfast while watching Arthur puts me in a positive mood for some reason. Yes, I am 26 and I watch Arthur.
Basement: I don’t have my own home, but I already know how I would want my basement to be. I want my basement to be the chill spot for my friends and I. There would be a big screen TV, nice surround sound, fridge stocked with drinks, cupboards stocked with snacks, and a whole lot of board games on the shelves. The walls would be painted red with cool artwork on display. Comfy black leather couches. Funky lights.
Canada: Recently, I’ve thought about how grateful I am to live in Canada and be a Canadian. As my elementary teacher described, I love how Canada is a “tossed salad” and not a “melting pot”.
David Blaine: Is David Blaine even human? I can’t figure out how he does what he does. Like how do you get a specific card in the center of an uncut orange. HOOOOWWWW!
Elections: Watching the American election this year felt like watching reality TV. Usually, my attention span with regards to politics is 0 to none, but watching USA’s election race was pretty entertaining. I never paid attention to Canadian politics my whole life as much as I did with American politics this year.
Farts: This thought actually occurred today morning. When it’s cold and you breathe, you can see your breath as you exhale. So when you fart, is there a puff of smoke coming out of your butt? I need to know this answer … for a friend of course.
Gilmore Girls: Am I the only one that’s watching Gilmore Girls for the first time this year? I started last week and I am already on season 3! It’s so good! I always passed on giving this show a try because I thought it would be very cheesy/girly, but it’s not so bad. Maybe I should give Game of Thrones a shot next?
Hats: I always feel awkward when wearing hats. I’m okay with baseball caps, but when it comes to those nice stylish hats, I feel uncomfortable wearing them in public. I just try it on at the store and then put it back on the rack.
Interviews: Whenever I go for an interview and see a water bottle placed on the table for me, I already assume it’s not going to go well. I wish I could be more confident and not let my nerves get the best of me.*sighs* Hoping for better luck in 2017.
January: January is approaching and I am not looking forward to it at all. I always feel so dull on January. There is nothing to look forward to, everyone is busy again with their own lives after a month of celebrating the holidays together, it’s cold , the snow makes driving difficult, and it gets dark very quickly… I just hate it!
Kong: Well, Hong Kong. I already used up my H. I really want to go there! I want to visit China and Japan. I am so fascinated with their culture and lifestyle. When I do get to go there, I want to have the full experience. I want to go to the typical tourist locations as well as go into the city/villages and hang around the locals and try different food. My friend has been there many times and says she wouldn’t go to the tourist spots again, such as, the Great Wall of China, so I need a new friend who will go with me. Any takers? Just kidding. Well, not really. 😛
Leafs: Once upon a time, I was such a huge leafs fan. The hockey game came first, everything else came second. This was back in day when Sundin, Tucker, Domi, Kaberle, and Mogilny were playing. I hope I can get that excitement back again in the future. I watch the games now here and there, but I’m not as into it as I was when I was a kid.
Marriage: Ugh, I hate marriage talk. It gets worse with each year that passes by. Besides the fact that I’m not seeing any one at the moment, I don’t feel like I’m ready for such a commitment either. I don’t feel like an adult – more like an adult-sized baby.
Nails: How do girls grow such long nails without it getting in the way of their daily activities. Kudos to them because I can’t do it. Some of my issues with long nails include: finding myself accidentally scratching myself or another person, having difficulty grabbing my contact lens out of the case and applying it, and having difficulty with texting or typing. I like the look of long nails, but I just can’t maintain it.
Orange: What came first? The colour orange or the fruit orange? The colour peach or the fruit peach?
Pumpkin pie: This year, one of the things that I wanted to bake was a pumpkin pie. However, I guess I got so excited about Fall that I consumed one too many pumpkin spice flavoured items that I eventually got sick of the taste. I didn’t end up making the pie. Note to self: Next year, don’t get so carried away.
Quidditch: Quidditch looks cool in the Harry Potter movies, but sorry, the ones in real life look so silly. Running around with a broom stick between your legs…err
Returns: I sometimes get nervous when I have to return an item back to a store. I feel like I’m going to get interrogated to the point that they will find a flaw to my reason for returning, even if my reason for returning is valid. Meanwhile, I know of people who used and returned a product without a receipt AND were successful at it! Now these guys have guts.
Sore losers: It’s just a game! Why do some people have to get so competitive and get upset over the fact that they lost. And then they do everything they can (even bending the rules) to make sure they are declared the winner.. *kisses teeth* You lost. Accept it. Move on. Let the person that won fair and square enjoy their little moment.
Thongs: How do people feel comfortable wearing thongs? Doesn’t it feel like you have a wedgie when you’re walking?
Urban Dictionary: There are SO many words out there that I have never heard of. Words describing the most bizarre things. Thank goodness for urban dictionary to help out an old fart like me. I was playing this knock off version of Cards Against Humanity with my cousins yesterday and had to search the meanings of at least 25% of these words. I guess I live under a rock or just am not exposed to such words. For example, glory hole… necrophiliac… like what the eff. Did you search up the meanings right now just like me? I hope my recent Google searches don’t end up giving me weird ads on Facebook.
Valentines day: Ick – coming from a possible future cat lady even though I think cats are creepy.
WordPress: I am glad my friend introduced me to the world of blogging. I’m not a regular blogger myself, but I enjoy reading other people’s posts on my commute to and from work. It’s got me a lot more interested in reading and writing. It’s a nice change to write for fun about things you like to write about without that stress of knowing you’re being evaluated by a teacher.
X: Nothing annoys me more than seeing the letter X when playing the CrossWord lottery scratch cards.
Yarn: Knitting was something I wanted to try out earlier this year, but as soon as I realized how complicated it looked, I lost interest. Maybe I should try again for 2017.
Zoom: Remember that show? Whenever someone says, “Whatcha doin?”, I’m so tempted to say, “sitting on a red bench.” All thanks to Zoom.
