Thought I’d do a part 2 on “Thoughts on Thoughts on Thoughts” because I have some things I need to say about different topics, but not enough to have a separate post for the topics 🙂
Airbags: I am pretty short and so I need to pull my seat a little more forward than others when driving. My fear is that if I ever get into an accident, it’s not the accident itself that is going to injure me, but the airbags. I feel like I am so close to the steering wheel, that if the safety bags were to blow out, it’s going to fracture my face.
Banff: Next month, I was very excited to make a trip to Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. I’ve seen so many beautiful pictures of the area, and was most looking forward to seeing Lake Louise. I figured since it’s going to be Spring in Ontario, it’s going to be Spring over there as well. WRONG. Snow doesn’t melt till late May/ early June. I won’t be able to see that gorgeous colour of Lake Louise. Fml. So that trip is on pause for now. ugh.
Civil War: War is so stupid. Why do people have to resort to war. Why can’t everyone just get along, damn it. Sometimes I wonder how life would have been if there was no civil war. Everyone would not have needed to escape their country for safety. Things would have been so different. Also the countries could have maintained their beauty. I remember when I went to visit Sri Lanka and saw burned down homes due to bombs at random places. It was such a depressing sight.
Dating: Recently I learned that in Japanese online dating profiles, it is recommended to mention your blood type. Isn’t that interesting? Apparently, Japanese people believe that your blood type can give someone an idea about what your personality is like. I don’t believe in horoscopes and definitely do not believe in this, but once I find out what my blood type is, I’m interested to find out what it means, just for the fun of it.
Engagement rings: So there have been a few talks about engagement rings recently and I was surprised to hear when one of the rings that were bought costed over 5k! W-O-W. I honestly can’t tell the difference between an expensive and inexpensive ring. So now after this 5k engagement ring, you need to buy a wedding band as well? (And for those that are hindu, a Thali Kodi [that’s the Tamil name for it], which is basically a gold necklace that the groom ties around the bride’s neck to identify her as a married woman)… DAMN. Fyi, if my future husband ever reads this, I do not want an expensive ring. As long as it’s not fake and doesn’t turn my finger green, I’m good.
Future: There’s a song by Future that I am so embarrassed to like. A part of the chorus is literally him saying, “Percocet, molly, percocet”. Add some autotune, and a nice flute-like music, and you got yourself a hit. What’s funny is when I mentioned this to a friend, he made fun of me and asked me why I listen to garbage music. A week later, he asked me to send him the song because he ended up liking it. Not so garbage anymore huh? Today he mentioned another song that I’ve been into recently as garbage… I have the audio ready to send to him next week.
Genius: The child geniuses (genii?!) that come on Ellen are so adorable and smart! If I ever have a kid, I hope mines would end up a genius as well. Of course, that would mean I’d have to relearn everything myself because I can’t name all the elements on the periodic table or the flags of various countries off the top of my head. I’d like to see a segment where all the child geniuses are in one classroom together and see how they all interact with one another. The video where Nate and Brielle meet was so cute.
Hangouts: Does anyone use this app to communicate? I was surprised when someone I met mentioned hangouts to chat rather than Whatsapp or text… or Facebook messenger or Viber. I don’t mind it though. It’s growing on me 🙂
Ipsy: Sometimes I go through phases where I check different monthly subscription boxes/bags (such as ipsy and topbox) and am so tempted to subscribe, but then last minute, I’m not sure if I want to make a commitment, and back out. Finally, one day I came across an organic snacks subscription box and found that I can gift just one month to someone, so ofcourse I gifted it to myself 😛 When the box came, I felt the same joy you’d feel when you get a gift or a package. However the contents in the box were meh, and definitely was not worth the $35. I don’t think I’d be subscribing to any subscription boxes any time soon.
JBL: If you are looking for good portable speakers, I highly recommend the JBL Flip 3. The sound quality is really good! It has blue tooth and an outlet for the aux cord. The music sounds true to the sound and not like the radio quality that you’d get from the cheaper speakers (like my old one that cost $20) More importantly, it has a nice bass. I’m not a tech person to be able to describe other features, but there’s online reviews for that 😛 But I bought it last week, and am loving it.
Kevin O’Leary: I haven’t done my research on him, but I feel like Trudeau is comparable to Obama, just as Kevin O’Leary is comparable to Trump. *shrugs shoulder* I may be wrong, but this is just based on random bits that I’ve come across. I have a gut feeling he is going to be our next prime minister. If he does, hopefully he helps build the country up without causing disruptions in various social issues.
Little Big Shots: Love watching Steve Harvey’s interviews with some of these kids. One of the recent videos I watched was the little ministry leader. He is just so adorable and is going to be a heart throb when he gets older. Those eyes! I love the bond he has with his grandpa.
Monopoly: Monopoly Deal is way more fun than the actual Monopoly board game.
Nintendo: As I was thinking what word starts with N, I got reminded of the Nintendo Entertainment System with the super Mario brothers game and the duck hunt game that I have collecting dust somewhere downstairs. I should dust it off some time and see if it still works.
Oysters: yuck. But then again, I don’t like anything sea food. except shrimp.
Patrick: St. Patrick’s day passed by and I never really celebrated it before. This year, I finally had the chance to celebrate and was excited to try the green beer that I always see on peoples snap chat/ Instagram. I was so disappointed to realize it was just any regular beer with green food colouring in it! For some reason, I thought there was a special drink only for St. Patrick’s day. 😦
Queens: I was thinking about shows that I used to watch on TV that I miss and was reminded of King of Queens. That show was pretty funny and I felt like watching it again. Too bad it’s not on Netflix, but there are some clear versions starting from season 2 on YouTube though 🙂
Riverdale: Never really read the Archie comic books, or at least I don’t remember ever reading them. However, for some reason, I know the characters Archie, Betty, Veronica, and the Pussy cat Dolls, so maybe I did? Either way, the show Riverdale on Netflix has those characters and the show is pretty good. Waiting weekly for the new episodes. Also interesting to see one of the Zack and Cody brothers play a more emo-ish character (Jug Head), compared to the role that I saw them act last in Suite Life of Zack and Cody.
Scrabble: I’ve recently had an addiction to playing scrabble whenever I go to cafes/shisha places that have board games. I am going to buy one for myself to play at home with people. This will hopefully encourage me to learn more new words as well 😛
TD MySpend: Recently I found out my credit card from another Bank had been involved in fraudulent activity! What’s worse is that I didn’t even realize this until my credit card kept getting declined (embarrassing). I still am confused how I never caught this myself because I usually do look at my transaction history. Any ways, I got a new credit card recently with TD and downloaded the TD MySpend app. I find it very useful. Not only does it send you a notification each time your card is used, but it also shows your spending habits and helps you keep track of your budget.
Used Items: Another app that I have downloaded recently is Bunz. Bunz is an app that allows you to trade used or new items with other bunz members. You can’t sell items, but some people ask for TTC tokens in exchange for the items, which is in a way similar to selling your products, but you’re using tokens instead of cash. One person’s trash is another person’s treasure right. Well, yes most of the time, except for that person I came across that posted a used nail file up for trade… ew throw that shit out! No one’s going to trade anything with you for that …. I would think.
Volcano: I want to see an active volcano (from a safe distance of course) one day.
Word Press: Sometimes I find myself wanting to share my posts with more friends and family, but then at the same time, I don’t want to, because although I would like them to see some posts, there are other posts that I’d rather they not read. I would be limited to what I could write about, and so I usually end up deciding not to share. Not ready to be that open with everyone just yet. WordPress friends from around the world or no one looking at my posts is where my comfort level is at right now haha.
(e)Xpensive: Owning a car costs sooooo much!!!! I sometimes feel like it would be better if I just park the car in the garage and never take it out. So I did a really stupid thing last week (sigh) and the passenger side mirror got damaged… went to the dealership to see how much to fix it… figured it would cost no more than $300. The guy said $840 plus tax. um what the fuck? I was gonna bawl my eyes out right then and there. Did I pay the $840? Nope. I drove back home and temporarily fixed it with good old super glue and duct tape from the dollar store. It’s actually not that noticeable anymore. Anywho, time to start saving for a side view mirror -_-
Yogi’s Pizza and Wings: I am a person that can get influenced by a really good Instagram picture of food. Came across a picture on Instagram of mutton poutine from this place (Yogi’s Pizza and Wings) and just had to try it yesterday. It was so g o o d! They only have this poutine available on Saturday, Sunday, and Mondays I think.
Zzzquil: I have trouble sleeping during the day after night shifts and then came across an ad on my instagram for Zzzquil (Is instagram spying on my conversations? How do they know I need this…). Anyways, I don’t know if it’s safe to take or not, but am considering trying it after some research on the med. Or maybe I should first stop buying coffee on my way home after work…#addict
